This teether is very simple. It's the perfect size and shape for small hands, and it doesn't include any extraneous parts that could get in the way of its main purpose. My brother's baby loves this toy and seems to prefer gumming it over his other, more complicated and flashy teethers. I like that its phthalate-free and BPA-free.

Avent categorizes its teethers into three groups: Stage 1, stage 2, and stage 3. This is a stage 1 teether, which Avent describes as "Front teeth: Massages gums and suitable for sterilization." Stage 2 is for middle teeth, and stage 3 is for back teeth. Basically, stage 1 is for the earliest stage and is appropriate for small babies. All in all, a good product from a reputable company.

I heard this was very popular with babies so I ordered for my 4 month old son. When I took it out of the box, it had an awful odor. Kind of like a tire smell. I've washed it and boiled it (which ruined the squeeker) and after I play with it with my son, my hands smell like the rubber.

I bought this feeder without having much hope that my boy will ever use it. But I was positively surprised when I first gave it to him with a strawberry inside - he was playing with it for 20 minutes while we went for a walk. This is a nice feeder and what I like the most about it is that it has a lid! What a great invention. Because if you put a slice of a peach in it the juice will be all over your bag before you'd ever have a chance to give it to your baby. ... and remember to take a bib with you if you go for a walk and feed your darling on the way!

I ordered Sophie when my son was about 5 months old. At first he really didn't care for her, but once he actually started getting teeth (6 1/2 months) he loved the thing. He loves chewing on her feet and swinging her around to make her squeak! I think it was worth spending the extra $$ for this teether.

!1: Best Buy Bought based on reviews. Cautious daughter OK'd it after reading packaging.
4 month old granddaughter happily gnaws on it. Sometimes she holds it, sometimes
we hold it. We laugh when she occasionally squeaks it on her gums. Easy to rinse when
dropped on floor. Will shell out the bucks and buy the giraffe because she likes this
teether. Pleased I got a toy that passed muster with daughter. Hope giraffe will too. on Sale!
